A Bright Start for Every Deaf Child: Together We Can for Deaf Children
The National Deaf Children’s Society are running four live and free online sessions to give those working in the early years information and ideas to support deaf children. Whether you currently have deaf children in your setting or not, these sessions will help you reflect on your practise and equip you to be ready for deaf children now or in the future.
We will cover how deafness impacts development, language and communication, acoustics and lighting, deaf awareness techniques, behaviour and identity.

Youth Community of Experience. Run by youth facilitators of the same age
KIDS Yorkshire are offering face to face meetings in the community that are accessible to all, where you can build self esteem through peer to peer support.
It will consist of a 4 week course for autistic individuals, those with a Learning Disability or both aged 14 - 25 years.
Areas will be Hull, North Yorkshire, York, East Riding of Yorkshire, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.

Portage Workshop
This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers.
The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families. The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners who work in an early year’s settings (PVI or maintained), Children’s Centres, Childminders and parents/carers of children who are receiving Portage support.
Central to the course are the ‘Portage Principles’ and the ‘Three Circle Model of Portage’. The NPA has set standards for minimum workshop content and length. The Workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules and must last a minimum of 2 full days plus a Follow Up session.
The workshop is designed to support parents who have children that are being supported by Portage, and practitioners working with children, to help support their learning and development and to understand the strategies and principles used by Portage Workers.

SEND Development and Improvement Plan
The Information Group, forming part of the Voice and Engagement strands of the SEND Development and Improvement Plan, are recruiting new parents and carers to join the group. The purpose of the Information Group is to work in co-production with our parents and carers, for example:
- To ensure that information about health, social care and educational services for children and young people (aged 0-25 years) with SEND, with or without an EHCP, is fit for purpose and accessible to parents, carers and young people.
- To advise and support on the development of information resources to ensure they meet the needs of parents and carers of children and young people with SEND.
- To provide a quality control function to ensure that information for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND is fit for purpose, comprehensible, accessible, accurate and up to date.
