The start of the repairs and closure of Bubwith bridge will now begin 24 hours later than planned.
This slight delay has been caused by last-minute rail works – we have had to keep the route across the bridge open in order to accommodate alevel-crossing closure by Network Rail at Wressle near Selby.
This short postponement will NOT affect the bridge scheme or the completion date.
The repairs and closure will now start at 10am on Tuesday 11 July and the project is still scheduled to take 15 weeks to complete, ending in October, as long as no further defects are found during the work.
Home-to-school travel arrangements already made will still begin on Monday as planned.
The free shuttle bus arrangements already announced – connecting with the East Yorkshire bus service 18 - will also begin on Monday as planned. This is in order to maintain the connection between Holme on Spalding Moor and Wheldrake.
