Following on from recommendations made through East Ridings Schools Forum on 26, January 2023, the early years funding rates for 2023/24 were agreed at East Ridings full Cabinet meeting on 9, February 2023. From the 1, April 2023 rates will increase as follows:
- 2-year-old funding entitlement will increase by £0.06p per hour from £5.57 to £5.63
- *3-and-4-year-old funding entitlement will increase by £0.26p per hour from £4.31 to £4.57
- A deprivation supplement will be paid at a rate equivalent to an additional £0.13p per hour. This is a mandatory supplement which is calculated using economic deprivation criteria and is paid based on specific children attending provision, from identified post code areas across east riding
- The national funding rate for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) will increase by £0.02p per hour from £0.60p per hour to £0.62p per hour
- The national rate for Disability Access Funding (DAF) will increase by £28.00 from £800 to £828 per annum
All rates are based on the allocations provided by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). For 2, 3 and 4-year-old funding entitlements, the full allocated increases will be passed directly to all early year’s providers who offer the funded entitlements.
