SPOTLIGHT ON...…
The Information Group, forming part of the Voice and Engagement strands of the SEND Development and Improvement Plan, are recruiting new parents and carers to join the group. The purpose of the Information Group is to work in coproduction with our parents and carers, for example
- To ensure that information about health, social care and educational services for children and young people (aged 0-25 years) with SEND, with or without an EHCP, is fit for purpose and accessible to parents, carers and young people.
- To advise and support on the development of information resources to ensure they meet the needs of parents and carers of children and young people with SEND.
- To provide a quality control function to ensure that information for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND is fit for purpose, comprehensible, accessible, accurate and up to date.

HAF Holiday Activities and Food
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) annual and Easter grant schemes are now launched supporting organisations to deliver fun activities for children and young people aged 5-16 years who receive benefits related free school meals in the school holidays.
Applications are welcomed from constituted organisations, charities, schools, town and parish councils, faith groups and businesses to provide 4-hour sessions and a meal for eligible participants. Up to £150,000 is available to offer a range of fun sessions including sport, play, drama, cooking, crafts, music, healthy lifestyles, art, dance, outdoor adventure or animal experiences.
HAF can part-fund programmes for all children or fully-fund those solely for participants eligible for benefits related free-school meals. Funding can be spent on management and staff delivery, equipment, venue, food, marketing, capital costs, transport, excursions and staff training.
The deadline for the annual grant is Monday, 25 January 2023 at noon and if applying for just the Easter holidays, the application form needs to be completed by Monday, 30 January 2023 at noon. To apply, please visit the below website https://eastridingofyorkshirecouncil.flexigrant.com/

New Endorphins Group Location!
We are delighted to let you know that starting Saturday, 28 January 2023 Endorphins will be introducing our SEND groups for young people in Wilberfoss!
We can't wait to introduce local SEND young people to Endorphins a safe and inclusive space to enjoy themselves and take part in some fantastic themes and learn some amazing life skills whilst making friends. Our short breaks offer parents and carers time on a weekend and will run from 9.30am - 12.30pm and are suitable for young people aged 8 - 18yrs.

Yoga Movements and Music Group for young people 14-25 with SEND from YogiWolfPack in partnership with Creative Transitions at Castaway Goole
Date: The last Saturday of every month, starting March 2023
Time: 10am to 11am with optional social in the cafe afterwards
Cost: £8 for young person and 1 parent/ carer to attend
Venue: Oldroyd's Corner, Woodmansey Garden Centre, Woodmansey (near Beverley)

Make and Star in Your Own Film Trailer at Parkway Cinema Beverley with Arts Outreach for 16-25s with SEND from Creative Transitions at Castaway Goole.
Led by Castaway creative staff in partnership with Fly Girl Films. The end film will be shown at the cinema for participants and family.
Date: Every Friday from 24 February to Friday 31 March
Time: 6-8pm
Cost: FREE

New Supported Internship Opportunities for young people with an EHCP
A supported internship is a workplace based educational programme for young people with SEND that consists of one or more placements, for up to a year, of on the job training. The primary aim of a supported internship is to equip young people age 16 and 24 with the skills they need to help them into employment.
The internship is unpaid but can lead to employment if at the end of the placement, there is a vacancy and the young person meets the criteria. Two local employers have partnered with the local councils, local education and providers and DFN Project Search to delivery 10 places each. Humberside Police and CHCP have places starting in September 2023.
If you are 18y+, have an EHCP, live in East Riding or Hull and are ready to start the journey into the world of work, please register and attend the interest events to find out more. Links to both programmes are below.
