Speech and Language Service – New referral Forms
This service has updated their referral forms to be more user friendly and accessible. The new layout allows the referral agent to provide more relevant information about the child/young person’s speech, language and communication needs as well as strategies and activities which have already been tried.
The referral forms can be found in the usual place on the Speech and Language Therapy website Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy (humber.nhs.uk) A link to this website can also be found from the ER Local Offer website.
There will be a video clip on the Speech and Language Therapy website coming soon demonstrating how to complete each section.

Parent Carer Survey
East Riding of Yorkshire Council and its partners would welcome the views of parents and carers who have accessed Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services for their children and young people aged 0-25 who have an East Riding address. Portage Workshop
This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers.
The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families. The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners who work in an early year's settings (PVI or maintained), Children's Centres, Childminders and parents/carers of children who are receiving Portage support.
Central to the course are the 'Portage Principles' and the 'Three Circle Model of Portage'. The NPA has set standards for minimum workshop content and length. The Workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules and must last a minimum of 2 full days plus a Follow Up session.
The dates are 29 September 2022, 25 October 2022 and 22 November 2022, and the workshop will be held at Waffle 21, Colonial House, Swinemoor Lane, Beverley, HU17 0LS.
The Portage Workshop is free to East Riding parents and practitioners, a fee is payable of £200 to anyone wanting to access the workshop outside on the East Riding.

KIDS Community of Experience Event
KIDS has been commissioned by the Humber, Coast and Vale Keyworker Service to develop a 'Community of Experience' for all children and young people with a learning disability, autism or both, their families and carers.
They will be hosting the attached event on Monday 12 September 2022 at Beverley Leisure Centre, Flemingate, Beverley, HU17 0LT from 9.30am to 12.30pm, and this event will be open to parents and carers living in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
