PCF planned sessions for the New Year

Pop in coffee morning (Bridlington)

Date: Tuesday, 11 January.

Time: 10:30 – 12:30 (face-to-face)

Trudy Cooper (Participation Co-ordinator) and PCF volunteers are hosting regular monthly pop in coffee mornings covering all areas around the East Riding starting in the New Year. The first coffee morning is in January and is in Bridlington at The Training Centre, Rear of Christ Church, 2 Quay Road, Bridlington, YO15 2AP. We are looking forward to catching up and seeing you there.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Governing Body

Date: Thursday, 13 January.

Time: 10:00 – 12:00 noon (Virtual)

The PCF have received feedback from parent/carers wanting more information on the roles and responsibilities of a governing body within education settings. We have been in contact with Lisa Devine, the School Governance and CPD Manager, who is happy to attend this scheduled session and answer any questions.

Autism Seminar – Managing Anger - We will be running Managing Anger Seminars at:-

County Hall, room 1 on Thursday 3rd February 2022 -10.00-12.30

Bridlington North Library on Thursday 10th February 2022 – 10.00-12.30

Goole Council Chambers on Thursday 3rd March 2022 – 10.00-12.30

The sessions are open to parents/carers and practitioners who would like to know more about Managing Anger, including:

To a get a better understanding of how we react to anger?
To gain information about using a low arousal approach.
Practical ideas to manage anger, anxiety, distressed behaviours and meltdowns.

The Seminar will run from 10am to 12.30pm. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before the start of the session. Drinks are not provided.

Please provide your own pens and paper if you would like to take notes. Booklets to accompany the session are available from www.autism.org.uk should you wish to have one to refer to during the seminar (this is optional).

As the room will be well ventilated, please bring warm clothing.

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) Patient Survey - Residents in the East Riding area are being asked to share their experiences of local community pharmacy services. Healthwatch East Riding and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council are asking residents to share their views about pharmacy services in their area as part of a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) used mostly by NHS England & NHS Improvement but also by other organisations that are involved with health care.

The assessment aims to understand:

If there is sufficient choice of pharmacy services available in our area;
What types of services people need;
How things may change in the future.

NHS England & NHS Improvement use the assessment information to make decisions on where pharmacy services are needed most and can help identify where improvements are required.

The closing date for this survey is 31st January 2022.

Civil Service internship An exciting three-week work experience opportunity in the Civil Service is being offered to 60 autistic young people, you must be:

autistic
aged between 18 and 25 at the time of the internship
achieved a minimum of 2 GCSE's (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4-9 (or A*-C) or above
