Welcome to the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Newsletter. We are here to let you know about the great activities and offers available in the East Riding this winter for children and young people who receive free school meals.

It's not long now until the last day of school in 2021! We hope you have enjoyed the HAF activities during the school holidays this year and we are delighted to highlight some more fun things to do over the winter break.
Before we get to the activities available this half term, we would like to share some important COVID-19 information.
Our face-to-face programmes are still going ahead in line with the Plan B regulations announced by the Prime Minister on 8 December. The government have issued updated advice for parents/carers whose children are attending out-of-school settings which you can access below.

 Families who are eligible for free school meals may also be entitled to extra funding to support with essential household costs this winter.
The Household Support Grant has been made available to help residents with energy and water bills. This funding can also help with winter clothing for children and young people

 Cook Stars aims to teach children and young people cooking skills and confidence along with developing social and communication skills. Cook Stars learn about food, ingredients, diet and nutrition. By attending the sessions, children enjoy cooking and develop a healthy relationship with food. Making cooking child’s play.

Take part in adventurous activities and team challenges, from human robot wars to team games and sporting activities. Children will learn new skills, take part in new sports and try new activities.
In trying new sports, you will get the opportunity to meet a professional athlete, question them about their life and then take them on at their own sport!
As well as keeping physically active and taking part in adventurous activities, we will explore food with different activities from blind food tasting and food experiments!
Each day will be packed with fun activities, food experiences and a healthy lunch.

 Keep your children busy this Christmas holiday with our HAF Sports and Dance activity camps.
Children can choose from 10 scheduled activities per day. Activities include sports and dance as well as arts and crafts, kids vs coach challenges and lots more.

 What better way to spend the school holidays, keep active, have fun and PLAY FOOTBALL?
Our camps follow a timetable to ensure all the children that attend practice a combination of different skills, techniques and activities.
With player progression at the forefront of each session, the action-packed activities will help your child to develop quickly and have fun whilst doing so.
Children will be provided with a free, healthy lunch.
For children aged 5-11 years
Our holiday camps aim to give children a full day of various gymnastics training. The camps are open to all boys and girls aged 6-16. The day runs from 9am to 4pm and includes training, games and much more! Our holiday camps are for non-members wanting a taste of gymnastics, all the way to our competitive gymnasts.
Fierce Gymnastics Club aims to give your child a safe, enjoyable and challenging gymnastics experience, which will teach them important skills like balance and coordination.
