Showcasing your community - Ticktons Outdoor Gym
A successful launch of an outdoor gym group for residents of Tickton and the surrounding area. Encouraging all to socialise and get active at the same time.
|
The informal, fun and friendly sessions run every Thursday at 10am and attract people of all ages and abilities. Participants can have a go on the equipment in a safe group who can offer guidance and a chance to have a good catch up afterwards with a cup of tea and coffee and maybe a sweet treat or two!
Celia has been going since the start of the session and has noticed that her confidence has increased dramatically. She said 'I was nervous about attending a group, especially with Covid-19 but when I first arrived, I was put at ease straight away. All the equipment is sanitised and as we are out in the fresh air we can easily socially distance. My confidence has increased dramatically, and I can now step onto the equipment with ease". The group is going from strength to strength and is now putting in a funding bid for some further equipment to offer a variety of light exercises.
