Safeguarding Week June 2021
Safeguarding Week 2021 in June this year was a real success across East Riding, North Yorkshire and York with excellent training and information events being delivered to a wide range of audiences.
The level of engagement from right across the safeguarding network in North Yorkshire, City of York and East Riding was fantastic to see and it was greatly appreciated by those who were able to take part in the diverse and interesting programme that was put together for the week.
Here are some of the headline from the week:
- We had 2450 registrations to attend the 34 sessions during the week.
- Attendance numbers have not been confirmed for every session but average % attendance for the 23 sessions, for which numbers were confirmed, was 66%.
- The VIP videos that introduced and closed each day of Safeguarding Week had a total of 257 views – an average of 32 views per video.
- We had 128 views of the three marketplace videos – an average of 42 views/ video.
- 357 of the registered attendees took part in the evaluation survey.
- 13 % attended for personal reasons, 49% in a professional capacity, 38% for both personal and professional reasons.
- 97% said they found the arrangement for registration and attendance easy to follow.
- Overall, 98% said that they found the session they attended informative.
- 94% said that they found the session they attended to be engaging.
- 97% said that they found the programme for Safeguarding Week 2021 provided a good learning opportunity.
- 20% registered for two sessions, 45% registered for more than two sessions.
- Many attendees heard about the sessions via their workplace.

National Safeguarding Adult’s Week Safeguarding Adults Week 15-21 November 2021
East Riding will be taking part in National Safeguarding Adult’s Week 15-21 November 2021 in partnership with Hull Safeguarding Adult’s Board.
The themes for the week will be:-
Monday- Emotional Abuse and Safeguarding Mental Health
Tuesday- The Power of Language
Wednesday- Digital Safeguarding
Thursday- Adult Grooming and the Ann Craft Trust Safeguarding Conference
Friday- Creating Safer Organisational Cultures
Saturday & Sunday- Safeguarding and You
