EYPCF/ Professional meeting March 2021- The EYPCF/ Professional Forum agreed at the January 2021 meeting that all future minutes would be shared with parents/carers, the LA, Health, Social Care, and the Voluntary sector. These meetings are held every two months and the minutes agreed at the subsequent meeting. The minutes will be available on the EYPCF website, the EYPCF Facebook page, the Local Offer, and they will be available to the Voluntary sector.

Ofsted - It is expected that the East Riding will have an area Ofsted inspection during June or July. The PCF is putting information together for parents and carers about what the Inspectors will be looking at and what will happen during their week-long visit which in the current Covid circumstances will be a virtual visit.   The PCF will arrange a coffee session to discuss and answer questions about the Ofsted visit at the beginning of June 2021.

Goole, Howden and surrounding area

Over the past few weeks Junction and IOU Theatre have been sharing artwork by artists, poets and musicians on the My Three Words website, inspired by specific locations in Goole which can be exactly determined using three unique words, via the what3words platform. Now it’s your turn!

The My Three Words website is now open for submissions from you. If you live in Goole we want to see artwork inspired by your hometown. Or perhaps you visited and had a one-off memorable experience there, which inspired a collage or a piece of music? Perhaps you grew up there and you want to share your memories in a story, poem or illustration? 

You can submit anything from writing and illustration, to photography, video or even sound files. To find out more visit mythreewordsgoole.co.uk and download the submission guide.

We encourage submissions from individuals and also groups and organisations. If you’re a member of a local community group associated with Goole and would like to take part we welcome submissions from you. You can upload multiple images and files as part of one submission so it could be more than one piece. Hull Truck Theatre

Hull Truck recently announced their Homecomings May – July 2021 season and we wanted to draw your attention specifically to some access events that might be useful for you.

The Tortoise and the Hare - Recommended Age 4+.   All performances are relaxed.

The Tortoise and the Hare (@ Fruit Market) - Recommended Age 4+.   This event is NOT at Hull Truck Theatre and is on the grassy area behind Nibble.   All performances are relaxed.

The Greatest Play in the History of the World - Recommended Age 12+.  

They also have an on demand, online version of the show available from 8 – 12 June with captions available from 8 June. There will be an audio introduction recording available too.

Everything I Own - Recommended Age 14+

They also have an on demand, online version of the show available from 19 – 26 June with captions available from 21 June. There will be an audio introduction recording available too.

Hull & High Water - Recommended Age 12+

The Big Ask 

The Big Ask is the biggest national survey for children, young people, parents and carers and professionals to participate in.   The survey can be found here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigask/

Freedom Activity Support Payment (FASP)

This year's Freedom Activity Support Payment (FASP) opens for applications on Monday 12 April 2021; FASP is a one off payment of £400 paid in two parts which may be available to families living in the East Riding of Yorkshire to support children and young people whose special educational needs/disabilities (SEND) prevents them accessing age appropriate social and leisure activities.

Attached is a criteria document and application form for families to apply for the funding. We do ask that parents and carers read the criteria document before applying to ensure they are eligible and the request is suitable.

Completed applications should be sent to the FASP inbox for processing via fasp@eastriding.gov.uk.

Applications will be accepted from Monday, 12 April 2021 and applications will close on Friday, 11 June 2021. Anybody struggling to complete a form online can call the SEND 0-25 team for support on (01482) 394000, option 5, then option 2.

Humber Sensory Processing Hub

The link below provides information on sensory processing difficulties and how they impact on children and young people.  Whilst referrals to the service can only be made for children registered with a Hull GP, there is a lot of useful information on the site.  The information is suitable for parents/carers and all practitioners as the impact that sensory processing difficulties can have on children/young people impacts on all areas of their lives.
