East Riding - Library and Customer Service

Libraries continue in lockdown

East Riding Libraries are pleased to confirm that they will offer an 'Order and Collect' service throughout the next lockdown.

Reading is proven to reduce stress and offer many positive mental health benefits; this is especially welcome during these difficult times.

From Thursday 05 November, East Riding Libraries will revert back to an 'Order and Collect' service, which was successfully and safely introduced after the first lockdown.

In a nutshell

  • You cannot come into libraries or mobiles to browse books, however you can search our catalogue here (which has a brilliant range of suggested books) or phone to speak to a member of staff for recommendations (click here for contact details of your branch)
  • There are still no fines! Fines have been suspended since the March lockdown and will continue for the foreseeable future) Bring your books back when it's safe for you to do so, there will be no penalty, and remember books can be renewed online, on the app or over the phone.
  • You can borrow up to 12 items for each library account.
  • Collection times will be available during normal opening hours
  • Returned items continue to be quarantined for 72 hours, prior to cleaning and redistributing.
  • Check the East Riding Libraries app or your online account to see when your items are ready to collect (or our team will call customers who have not registered an email address)
