We have launched a new pilot initiative to improve knowledge sharing between research universities and Catapults.
Many of the challenges identified require Researchers to be working at the interfaces and across the Catapults delivered either through the allocation of awards jointly supported between Catapults or through joint awards led by one Catapult on behalf of others. The first tranche of Researchers in Residence successfully recruited against this pilot activity have now been funded. Further opportunities will continue to be available through 2018 as detailed at the Catapult Researchers in Residence Programme page.

EPSRC Lens on Research and Innovation
(LoRI) is an interactive graphic that allows you to explore our portfolio
through either a sector or lifestyle lens. By scrolling over the graphic
and selecting sectors or areas of interest to you, key facts and figures, case
studies and short videos will appear that demonstrate the breadth and impact of
the investments we have made in this area. Content is regularly updated,
providing a rich source of information on EPSRC’s portfolio. To find out more

Participants are sought for a multidisciplinary sandpit in liquid biopsy. Led by CRUK, with EPSRC and STFC, it will explore molecular markers in blood or other bodily fluids to detect cancer earlier.
Markers exist in very low concentrations relative to molecules from healthy cells. Developing sensor and analysis technology which detects these markers amongst a noisy background would be transformative for patients.
The workshop will catalyse novel ideas by bringing diverse research communities together. If your research is in sensor technologies, sample preparation, data handling or other areas that have the potential to detect very low signals please apply. The workshop will be held 16-18 July 2018, applicants must attend the whole event. There is seed funding available of £100k per successful idea generated at the event to test feasibility.
Applications close on 24 May 2018.

Our latest Impact Report was published in
March 2018 and provides a snapshot of the wide range of impacts generated by
EPSRC-supported researchers and doctoral students.
It also sets out how building
the skills that the UK needs for its prosperity, and supporting the research
leaders of tomorrow, is key to EPSRC's strategy; the international impact of
EPSRC-supported research; and the organisation's commitment to supporting
cutting-edge research and its translation through research infrastructure
funding.
