Residents invited to help shape New East Surrey council brands
Residents from across Surrey are invited to get involved to help shape the brand identitiy of the new East Surrey council.
A survey has been created for people to share their views. This will be available to complete in the 52 libraries across the county to ensure a broad range of voices are heard. We are asking residents to share your views on:
• What makes our area unique?
• What are you most proud of?
• What should your future council’s look and feel reflect?
Residents have until 3 August to complete a short survey, more information can be found on Your Future Surrey: Surrey LGR Hub.
Stay water aware during the summer
The Be Water Aware campaign reminds residents of the dangers of open water as warmer weather encourages more people to spend time near rivers and lakes.
While it may be tempting to cool off or relax by the water, especially for young people during school holidays and study leave, open water can be hazardous due to cold temperatures and strong currents, even on warm days.
Parents, carers, and schools are encouraged to talk to children about water safety, emergency responses, and the location of lifesaving equipment. Residents can also help prevent accidents by following water safety advice and taking part in community events organised by the Fire and Rescue Service and RNLI.

 Bin collection delays
Currently there are some delays to waste collections in Elmbridge due to pressures impacting disposal arrangements. Disruptions may continue for 3 to 4 weeks.
Crews are working extra hours to catch up, so please leave bins out as collections will take place as soon as possible, though schedules may vary.
If your bin hasn’t been collected, please leave it out, including over the weekend, and crews will return as soon as they can.
