Drowning Prevention Week 2026: staying safe around water
Drowning Prevention Week 13 - 20 June 2026 is an important national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about water safety and preventing accidental drownings. The campaign aims to educate people of all ages about the risks associated with water and how simple actions can save lives.
We encourage people to plan ahead. Checking weather conditions and understanding local risks can greatly reduce danger. Wearing a life jacket when boating or paddleboarding and avoiding alcohol around water are also essential safety measures.
