Christmas message from the Leader and Deputy Leader of the council
As we approach the festive season, we want to thank you – our residents – for being part of Elmbridge’s journey this year. Your commitment and support for your community helps us shape a borough we can all be proud of.

During the festive season, some council services will operate differently.

Mental health crisis support over the Christmas period
Winter can be a challenging time for many of us. Shorter days, colder weather and added pressures can take a toll on our wellbeing. You’re not alone, and caring mental health professionals are available day and night to support you.
Safe Havens are also open every evening and bank holiday. They offer calm, welcoming spaces where you can talk to professional mental health staff or simply take a moment to breathe.
Discover volunteering opportunities at the Elmbridge Volunteer Fair
Are you looking to make a difference in 2026? Join us at the Elmbridge Volunteer Fair on Wednesday 14 January, 10am to 1pm at Walton Centre for the Community (Manor Road, Walton-on-Thames KT12 2PB).
Meet local charities and community groups, discover volunteering roles that suit your skills and find out how you can help make a positive impact.
Organisations attending include Age UK, Princess Alice Hospice, Elmbridge Citizens Advice, local foodbanks and many more! No booking needed - just drop in.
Step into the season: join our festive walks and rides
Stay active, enjoy the outdoors and connect with others this Christmas and New Year. Our free wellbeing walks run almost every day, including Bank Holidays, and weekly cycle rides take place across Elmbridge all year round – all thanks to our dedicated volunteers.
Walking is great for your physical health and even better for your mental wellbeing, with many participants finding comfort and companionship in walking together. Each walk is graded by length and difficulty, starting at 30 to 45 minutes, so there’s something for everyone.
Join us for Elmbridge’s next community conversations
Following the success of our roadshow earlier this year, the Leader and Deputy Leader of Elmbridge Borough Council invite you to the next series of community meetings.
Hear updates on:
- local government reorganisation
- upcoming elections
- budget and investment plans
- issues specific to your town or village
Your voice matters, come along to learn about Elmbridge’s future and share your views. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and join the conversation.
Due to venue size, booking is required for these meetings. To see the full list of venues, dates and times, visit our website.
 Connected Communities: next step
We’re taking the next step in our Connected Communities initiative. We have received bids for all six Centres for the Community: Claygate, Cobham, Weybridge, Walton, Molesey and Hersham.
The first hubs are expected to open from spring 2026 and services at our Centres for the Community will continue throughout the transition. Follow the progress as we build stronger, more connected communities together.
