NHS issues flu SOS - get vaccinated
The NHS has issued a flu SOS as cases are rising rapidly and the season is starting earlier than usual. Residents across Surrey are being encouraged to get their flu vaccine as soon as possible. Once vaccinated, it usually takes around two weeks for the body to build up protection against the flu virus, helping to keep individuals, families and communities safe.
Flu vaccines are available at GP surgeries, pharmacies and some midwifery services.
Vaccines can also be booked via the NHS App, at nhs.uk/BookFlu, by calling 119, or by contacting a GP practice or pharmacy.
