Move and Shout: supporting people with Parkinson’s through exercise classes
Move and Shout is a specialised class that helps participants improve mobility, strength and balance through tailored physical activity. Led by trained instructors, the sessions are designed to meet the unique needs of those living with Parkinson’s while also encouraging participants to connect and encourage each other.
Held at Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Centre in Walton, these weekly classes are more than just exercise, they’re a chance to connect, share and support one another in a friendly and inclusive environment.
Support Second Hand September and Recycling Week
Reducing waste continues to be a key priority as we work towards a more sustainable Elmbridge.
This September, we’re inviting residents to take part in two national campaigns that promote recycling and responsible shopping:
Weybridge Waitrose car park works September and October
Essential repair work will soon begin on the car park serving the Waitrose store and Marlborough House office tenants. This work is critical to ensure the long-term safety and stability of the structure and will commence on 15 September, lasting for up to 8 weeks.
During this period, parking will remain available for Waitrose customers and office occupiers, except for a two-week full closure currently expected to take place during the weeks of 13 and 20 October. Please note that Waitrose will remain open throughout, even when the car park is temporarily closed.
Alternative parking is available in council car parks at Baker Street, Churchfields and Monument Hill.
Celebrate Second Hand September with Elmbridge Museum’s ‘Make Do and Mend’ workshop
This creative WW2-inspired workshop encourages residents to breathe new life into old clothes, just as people did during WW2, when making do with what you had was a way of life.
It’s a chance to learn practical skills, share ideas and explore how small changes can make a big difference for the environment.
Come along on Saturday 13 September, from 10am to 12pm at the Walton Repair Café.

In July we launched our 2025 annual canvass. Running until December, the canvass ensures the electoral register - the official list of people who can vote in elections and referendums - is accurate and up to date.
There are a few ways for you to respond to the annual canvass. You will receive either an email or a letter asking you to confirm or update the details of those living at your address. The easiest way to respond is online, using the two-part security code provided in the email. More information on how to respond is on our website.
