Elmbridge Borough Council invites local people to lead the future of Community Hubs
We have a few tickets left!
Elmbridge Borough Council is offering a unique opportunity for people to take on the leadership of one of our Community Hubs. These spaces have served older and vulnerable residents for years, now we’re looking for partners ready to reimagine their future.
Join us for an interactive session to:
- understand what’s involved in running a Community Hub
- hear about available funding and support
- get information to help you shape your proposal
This session is ideal for organisations, groups and interested individuals with a strong local connection, a clear social purpose, and the ambition to shape local spaces for the long term.
Date: Tuesday 16 September 2025 Location: Lower Green Community Centre, Farm Road, Esher, Surrey, KT10 8AU Time: 4pm to 7pm RSVP via Eventbrite
Please note this is a ticketed event and all participants must sign up via Eventbrite.
If you have any questions prior to the event, please email commservices@elmbridge.gov.uk
Respond to the taxi and private hire licensing policy consultation - closing on 31 August
Our taxi and private hire licensing policy sets out the council's general approach to regulating taxi and private hire services in the Borough of Elmbridge.
Every 5 years the taxi and private hire licensing policy is reviewed. Our existing policy was published in 2020 and we have been consulting on proposed changes to ensure it remains current.
The consultation will be closing on 31 August at midnight, so don't miss out on sharing your views on the proposed changes!
Annual canvass 2025 in Elmbridge: Don't lose your voice
In July we launched our 2025 annual canvass. Running until December, the canvass ensures the electoral register - the official list of people who can vote in elections and referendums - is accurate and up to date.
There are a few ways for you to respond to the annual canvass. You will receive either an email or a letter asking you to confirm or update the details of those living at your address. The easiest way to respond is online, using the two-part security code provided in the email. More information on how to respond is on our website.
Step outside this summer, join our wellbeing walks and cycle rides
Our summer programme of wellbeing walks and cycle rides is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people and boost your wellbeing.
Led by friendly and experienced volunteers, these activities are designed to help you explore places in the borough, stay active and meet people. Walks take place daily, while cycle rides run weekly and there’s something for everyone.
Join our countryside volunteer teams and help protect the local environment
We are looking for new volunteers to join our dedicated groups working across Claygate Common and Weybridge Heath.
With 20 local sites under our care, volunteers play a vital role in habitat management, helping us achieve more for local wildlife, the natural environment and the community. No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Training, tools and refreshments are provided.
 M25 upcoming closures
To help people plan for journeys through the summer, National Highways have released the dates of the upcoming M25 closures from August through to September on their website.
