 Kids swim for free this August in Elmbridge
Thanks to Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Centre and The Hurst Pool, children who are eligible for free school meals can enjoy free swimming sessions during August. Participants will also receive a pair of goggles for free on a first come first served basis, until stocks last.
All children under 8 years old must have a supervising adult in the water and therefore the adult will need to make full price payment.

 Procurement of Joint Waste collection service contract
Four Surrey councils, Elmbridge, Mole Valley, Surrey Heath and Woking, have issued a formal tender for recycling, waste collection and street cleaning services.
The new contract is set to begin in June 2027 and will replace the current agreement with Amey LG Limited. Joint Waste Solutions (JWS) is overseeing the procurement process.
 Local government reorganisation update
On Friday 1 August, Surrey County Council, Elmbridge Borough Council and Mole Valley District Council submitted their joint response to the government’s local government reorganisation (LGR) consultation.

 Elmbridge Museum marks 150 Years of Sandown Park Racecourse with an exhibition in Esher
Sandown Park Racecourse, one of Britain’s most iconic sporting venues and a popular destination for residents, is turning 150 this year.
To mark the occasion Elmbridge Museum invites you to visit a new exhibition based on objects from their collection at House of Killik on Esher High Street.
This exhibition, open until 31 October, is a must-visit for racing fans, history enthusiasts and local residents alike.
 By-election for the Hinchley Wood, Claygate and Oxshott County Council Division
Surrey County Council are holding a by-election for the Hinchley Wood, Claygate and Oxshott division on 21 August 2025. This by-election is for residents that are registered to vote at an address within the Hinchley Wood, Claygate and Oxshott area only.
In order to vote, you will need to bring photo ID. If you don't have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document, which is known as a Voter Authority Certificate.
The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate is 5pm on Wednesday 13 August.
