 Household Support Fund
The UK government has confirmed the Household Support Fund, to assist vulnerable households with the cost of living during the 2025 to 2026 financial year, will continue. This funding is administered at a county level by Surrey County Council and Elmbridge Borough Council has not been allocated any funding for the 2025 to 2026 period. This means we will not be offering a local Household Support Fund scheme this year.
If you are an Elmbridge resident and need support, you can apply for the Household Support Fund through Surrey County Council.
M25 junction 10 slip roads closures
There will be another gyratory closure at junction 10 from 9pm on Friday 13 June to 6am Monday 16 June.
This means all slip roads off the junction will be closed and whilst you can drive through junction 10 on both the A3 and the M25, you can’t leave or join.
Excavating Oatlands: unearthing a Tudor treasure
Elmbridge Museum is proud to present its latest display, ‘Excavating Oatlands’, now open at the Civic Centre in Esher.
The exhibition features a fascinating collection of artefacts uncovered during excavation, including tiles, glass, clay pipes and pottery. Visitors can also explore archive documents, excavation tools and trowels used by the archaeologists, offering a rare glimpse into life at Oatlands palace during the Tudor era.
 Water safety in Elmbridge
With the weather predicted to heat up this week, many people will be taking to the water to cool down.
While many of our residents and visitors safely enjoy the river both in terms of hospitality and water activities, the dangers of open water should never be underestimated; cold water shock, currents, and the risk of being caught in rocks is ever present.
