 Elmbridge schools’ Great Big Green Week Challenge
Calling all young eco-champions! Come and take part in the Great Big Green Week Schools Competition.
The challenge invites all local primary schools to showcase their environmental efforts by organising as many green-themed projects and activities as possible during the Great Big Green Week from 7 to 15 June. The winning school will receive a renewable energy education kit - a great resource to support ongoing environmental learning.
 Excavating Oatlands: unearthing a Tudor treasure
Elmbridge Museum is proud to present its latest display, ‘Excavating Oatlands’, now open at the Civic Centre in Esher.
The exhibition features a fascinating collection of artefacts uncovered during excavation, including tiles, glass, clay pipes and pottery. Visitors can also explore archive documents, excavation tools and trowels used by the archaeologists, offering a rare glimpse into life at Oatlands palace during the Tudor era.
 Reserve your parking for the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival
Visitors to Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, which takes place from the 1 to 6 July, have the option to park in our Walton Road car park in East Molesey, KT8 0ST, a 15 to 20 minute walk from the Palace.
Located close to shops, bars and restaurants on Walton Road, the council-run car park allows visitors to book in advance and reserve a parking space all day.
 Mayor of Elmbridge charity launch
On Thursday 22 May, newly elected Mayor Cllr Steve Bax held his charity launch at The Oakwood in Esher. His chosen charity is the Community Fund for Elmbridge.
The Community Fund for Elmbridge is a new charity in the borough and has been created in association with the Community Foundation for Surrey and Sandown Park as part of their 150th birthday celebrations.
 Community Safety and Cohesion Survey
Surrey’s Safer Communities Team is conducting research to understand how safe and supported residents feel in their local communities.
This research is part of a joint effort between Surrey County Council and local partners to build safer, stronger and more inclusive communities. Your input will play a vital role in shaping future strategies and interventions, ensuring they address the real concerns and needs of residents.
 Weybridge Library Hub drop-in event
Surrey County Council invites you to a special resident engagement event on Friday 6 June, from 2pm to 8pm at St James’s Church Hall, Weybridge (access via Churchfield Road Car Park, KT13 8DB).
This is your chance to preview the exciting plans for the new Weybridge Library Hub, which will bring together a range of services under one roof including a modern library, Brooklands Radio, Youth Services and the new home of Weybridge Community Services when it opens in summer 2025.
