 Meet the council leader and find out what's happening in Elmbridge
You are invited to a community meeting hosted by the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Council.
The final meetings are on:
- Thursday 6 March, 7pm to 8:30pm, Weybridge Centre for the Community
- Wednesday 12 March, 7pm to 8:30pm, Civic Centre, Esher
- Thursday 13 March, 7:15pm to 8:45pm, Vital Village, Thames Ditton
These meetings aim to inform residents about the critical issues affecting the borough, including the Local Plan, financial outlook, local government reorganisation, as well as addressing specific concerns impacting individual towns and villages.
 Join food author Di Murrell's talk on 'A culinary journey down the Thames'
The Royston Pike lecture series hosts food author Di Murrell on Thursday 13 March at 7:30pm at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Walton.
Di will give an illustrated talk based on her latest book, "Riverfed: A culinary journey down the Thames", sharing her unique experiences working on canal boats and barges across Britain's inland waterways.
 80th anniversary of VE Day
The 80th anniversary of VE Day, which marks the end of World War II in Europe, takes place on Thursday 8 May 2025. There will be a flag raising ceremony at the Civic Centre in Esher with the Mayor of Elmbridge.

 Free home energy improvement guide for Surrey residents
Surrey residents looking to upgrade their homes with energy saving ‘retrofit’ measures can now access guidance from Surrey County Council’s new Home Energy Improvement Guide.
Over 300,000 homes in Surrey have low energy performance, meaning people live in homes which are poorly insulated, expensive to run and prone to damp or mould due to inadequate internal air quality.
 Elmbridge Community Lottery supports local causes
Elmbridge Community Lottery is a weekly lottery that directly supports local good causes and community initiatives. So far, it has raised over £168,000 for local causes operating in Elmbridge.
Groups that have benefited recently are St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Surrey Crimestoppers and Painshill Park.
 Full weekend closure of M25 Junction 10 and 11
The M25 will be closed between junction 10 and 11 in both directions from Friday 7 March at 9pm until Monday 10 March at 6am.
The full closure is needed for bridge demolition. If you have to travel, please use alternative routes and make sure that you allow plenty of extra time for your journey.
 Free training for community groups on behaviour change
Are you part of a community group dedicated to creating a more sustainable borough and inspiring others to join your efforts?
Join one of our free online training sessions on behaviour change led by UCL's Climate Action Unit on 17 or 21 March and learn how to encourage behaviour change by sharing positive stories and demonstrating how people can take practical actions.
