Government's refusal to extend Local Plan timeline forces Elmbridge to restart.
Are you eligible for Pension Credit and help with fuel bills?
Pensioners are being urged to check if they are eligible for Pension Credit, a weekly benefit to boost the incomes of older people. From this year, pensioners who receive Pension Credit will also automatically receive the Winter Fuel Payment.
The last possible date to make a successful backdated claim to receive the Winter Fuel Payment is 21 December 2024.

Have your say on the emerging proposals for Elm Grove
Elmbridge Borough Council is seeking to develop part of the Elm Grove site for either a new NHS neighbourhood Health Hub or for housing, including affordable homes.
We invite you to share your views on the proposals via the Shaping Elm Grove engagement survey which closes 18 December 2024 or at our drop-in session in Walton on 3 December from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
Woodland management on Stokes Field and Ditton Common in autumn winter 2024 - 2025
Woodland management works are currently taking place at Stokes Field and will continue on Ditton Common throughout the autumn/winter 2024 - 2025.
While our contractors carry out these important works, they will keep the disturbance to a minimum and work sites will be clearly signposted for everybody’s safety.

Hersham Golf Course planning application
Due to significant consultation responses which require detailed analysis, the Hersham Golf course planning application (2023/3519) will not be in a position to be considered by Councillors at the December Planning Committee.
Respect your neighbours and the environment
With autumn here and recent storms leaving gardens, paths, and patios covered in leaves, many will be using leaf blowers to tidy up. However, these devices can be quite loud. Please remember to be considerate to your neighbours and the environment when clearing leaves.
Elmbridge Cabinet decide on sale of Weybridge Hall
At Elmbridge Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 20 November, Councillors agreed to sell Weybridge Hall to Equippers Church.
During the marketing process, Equippers Church emerged as the preferred purchaser as they intend to refurbish the building, creating a two-tiered auditorium and converting upper parts into studios for various community activities.
Progress made and more work to do at Elmbridge Centres for the Community
Following the temporary closure of our Centres for the Community in 2023, we developed and executed a recovery plan, and commissioned a 3-stage review of Community Support services.
A key element of this has been to undertake an independent review of our health and safety polices and procedures at the Centres. The independent review was brought to Elmbridge’s Audit and Standards committee on 27 November.
