Discover the Moving Art exhibition at Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre
We are excited to welcome back the Moving Art exhibition at the Robert Phillips Gallery at Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Walton-on-Thames, from Wednesday 25 September to Sunday 20 October, daily from 10am to 4pm.
Come along and enjoy a wide range of art from over 60 local emerging and established artists, including oil paintings and watercolours as well as stunning sculptures and photography.
Elmbridge Community Fund is now open for applications
We are inviting Elmbridge charities and community groups to apply for funding (of up to £1000) for community programmes, projects or initiatives that demonstrate elements of our Vision 2030 for a sustainable, thriving Elmbridge driven by the power of our community.
This year, we are prioritising projects that:
- support our high street ambitions
- support our health and wellbeing offer
- celebrate arts and entertainment
Volunteer to help the local countryside and conserve Weybridge Heath
To manage our diverse countryside, we rely on a network of dedicated conservation volunteers who meet regularly, on a weekly or monthly basis, to volunteer with our countryside team. We have local conservation groups in Esher, Claygate and Oxshott.
We are looking for new conservation volunteers in these groups and also in a new group which will be dedicated to caring for Weybridge Heath.
Elmbridge Partnership Fund is now open
The Elmbridge Partnership Fund gives local non-profit organisations in Elmbridge the chance to apply for funding to help support Elmbridge residents.
Grants of up to £5,000 will be given to projects which help vulnerable residents with their health and wellbeing, specifically projects which will help reduce social isolation or provide physical activities to those on low income.
River enforcement operation
On 24 September, officers from the Environment Agency, Elmbridge Borough Council, Surrey Police and Surrey County Council conducted a joint enforcement operation along two stretches of the River Thames in Elmbridge around Cigarette Island and Hurst Park in Molesey.
Elmbridge thanks volunteers for supporting Centres for the Community
This month, volunteers from Elmbridge’s Centres for the Community attended a special thank you event at the Civic Centre in Esher.
Volunteers were joined by the Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Neil Houston, and were each presented with a commemorative badge as thanks for their support.
M25 Junction 10 Wisley Interchange closures in October
The next planned closures of the gyratory at the junction 10 Wisley interchange are:
- 9pm on Friday 4 October to 6am on Monday 7 October
- 9pm on Friday 18 October to 6am on Monday 21 October
- 9pm on Friday 1 November to 6am on Monday 4 November
The M25 and A3 will both remain open during the closure, but the slip roads and roundabout at junction 10 will be closed. Drivers will not be able to change from the A3 to the M25 or vice versa.
Diversions will be in place to assist people with their journeys, enabling travel in all directions. We are asking people to think about how this will affect their journeys and what alternative routes they should take.
Shaping Hersham engagement is open
We want to engage and support Hersham residents in shaping their community and are committed to helping Hersham thrive. We would like to hear your views on the future priorities of Hersham.
You can fill out the online survey or attend one of our drop-in sessions. The drop-in sessions will be held on: Wednesday 2 October from 11:30am to 1:30pm and Wednesday 9 October from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Hersham Centre for the Community, 7 Queens Rd, Hersham, KT12 5LU.
Join an Elmbridge Museum historical walk in October
Join one of our free historical guided walks with Elmbridge Museum in October.
On Thursday 3 October from 10:30am until 12pm, explore the interior and exterior of St Mary’s Church in East Molesey. Find out about some of those whose lives are commemorated in the churchyard and within the church itself.
On Saturday 12 October from 3pm to 4:30pm and Saturday 19 October from 3pm to 4:30pm, join our historic Weybridge walk taking in historical sights around the town.
