Give your views on planning application processes in Elmbridge
We have two opportunities for residents and businesses to give us their views on the processes around planning applications. These are:
- the consultation on proposed amendments to the Statement of Community Involvement
- the consultation on Local Validation Requirements for the Design Code and Biodiversity Net Gain
Elmbridge Borough Council cost of living fund now open
Round three of the Elmbridge cost of living fund is now open for applications. The £100,000 fund is designed to help local partners support residents who are financially vulnerable due to the cost of living.

Residents gather to celebrate the re-opening of Walton Community Garden
Walton Community Garden was re-opened officially by Lisa Townsend, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey on 20 August. St Johns residents, councillors from Walton wards and local community groups attended.
Improvements to the community garden, including new flowerbeds, vegetable patches and a bug hotel, were paid for with a grant from the Home Office Safer Streets Fund.

As part of our on-going commitment to becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2030, and a carbon neutral borough by 2050, we have introduced a new procurement policy that highlights ways in which suppliers can contribute to increased sustainability.
Boost your business sustainability by signing the anti-idling pledge
Working together with the community and businesses, we are on a mission to reduce engine-idling in the borough to lower pollution.
Businesses in the borough are being encouraged to sign the pledge to switch off engines when using the heating, delivering, waiting, on a lunch break, charging a phone or using aircon.
Lower Green placemaking
Initial community engagement will start on 9 September until 7 October 2024. This is our opportunity to hear from the residents, businesses and community partners of Lower Green.
