Elections Thursday 2 May 2024
On Thursday 2 May 2024, Elmbridge residents will go to the polls to have their say on who represents them for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey and on Elmbridge Borough Council. A by-election will also take place in Claygate Parish.
One Police and Crime Commissioner will be elected for Surrey.
16 Elmbridge Borough Councillors will be elected to Elmbridge Borough Council (one third of the seats).
Four Parish Councillors will be elected to Claygate Parish Council.
Voter photo ID
You will need to bring photo ID to vote at a polling station. If you don't have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document, which is known as a Voter Authority Certificate. The deadline for this is 5pm on Wednesday 24 April. If you are postal voting, there is no voter ID requirement.

To vote you must be a registered voter.

Results
Counting of the votes will take place from 9:30am on Friday 3 May.
Results are expected by late afternoon and will be published on the Election Results page.

M25 junction 10 - announce second full weekend closure
The M25 will be shut between junctions 9 (A243 Leatherhead) and 10 (A3 Wisley) from 9pm Friday 10 May to 6am Monday 13 May 2024. Drivers are advised to only travel this stretch if necessary. This closure involves a different stretch from the closure which took place in March and this time a 19-mile diversion route will be in place which uses the A3 and the A243.
