May 2024 Elections
On Thursday 2 May 2024, Elections are being held for electors to have their say on who represents them for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey and for 16 Elmbridge Borough Councillors to be elected to Elmbridge Borough Council. A By-election will also be held for Claygate Parish Council (if contested) to elect four Parish Councillors.
Voters need to show accepted photo ID to vote at polling stations. If you don’t have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate – the deadline for this is 5pm on Wednesday 24 April. If you register for postal voting, there is no photo ID requirement.
Join forces to Keep Elmbridge Tidy
Our 2024 Keep Elmbridge Tidy campaign has just been launched as we work towards a cleaner and more enjoyable borough to live and visit.
This year, we are stepping up our anti-litter campaign and hope it will get residents talking and sharing the message that littering is not acceptable.
Enterprise Elmbridge
We’re committed to supporting our high streets the best way we can. Markets selling local produce and crafts are a great way of attracting people into town centres, adding vibrancy and supporting local traders.
Following on from the success of popular independent markets held across the borough we're really pleased to share that we’ve signed two new agreements for this year.
Registration is open for Surrey Youth Games 2024
Are you looking for a new activity or sport for your children? The Surrey Youth Games are for 7 to 16-year-old beginners who may not get the chance to attend clubs, or are inactive and put off by the thought of competing against others. The focus is on joining in, having a go and having fun in order to learn new skills and boost confidence. Watch the video to see if your children might be interested.
Free training starts after the Easter holidays.
Why bin old favourites?
Are your jeans or trainers destined to never be worn again? Perhaps you have curtains that have seen better days. Worry not, your old and unwanted clothes, shoes and home textiles don’t need to be binned. You can recycle them, for free, from your own home and give them another chance at life.
What happens to your unwanted items
If they're in good condition they may be reused. In poor condition, they will be recycled and made into something like stuffing or loft insulation.
