The annual canvass has begun in Elmbridge
Don’t lose your voice in the borough! The annual canvass has begun in Elmbridge.
The annual canvass ensures that we keep the Register of Electors updated. It also helps us to identify any residents who are not registered to vote, so they can be invited to register.
Please look out for messages from us in the next few weeks, so we can make sure that we have all the current and correct details on the register. You will receive either an email or a letter in the post from Elmbridge Borough Council, and you can respond online, by post or by phone.
 Elmbridge disappointed with ULEZ decision
We were disappointed to hear of the High Court decision to allow the expansion of ULEZ to go ahead from 29 August 2023.
We are supportive of improving air quality in Elmbridge and of increased trade in our high streets and parades, both of which we see as potential benefits to the possible extension of the ULEZ. However, we know our communities are linked to those of Greater London and we are concerned about impact on small businesses and our residents.
 Gambling policy review
We are consulting on changes to our gambling policy and would like to hear your views.
Every third year, we must review our statement of licensing policy under the Gambling Act 2005. Our current policy expires on 31 December 2023.
Our policy plays a vital role in our desire to manage the risk of gambling-related harm in Elmbridge and to regulate gambling activity to mitigate the risk of such harm.
