Celebrating 800 years of volunteering in Claygate
Local residents were recognised for their community service this month, at a Volunteer Awards Ceremony held at Claygate Centre for the Community. Over 40 volunteers attended the event, just part of a team who have given over 800 years of time to support the Centre.
Our Enterprise Elmbridge Action Plan
On 15 March, Elmbridge Cabinet approved the new Enterprise Elmbridge Strategy and Action Plan which sets out our ongoing support for the local independents, high streets and businesses.
This will support our local businesses and high streets through this time of economic uncertainty, enable businesses to start and grow and work with our local communities to make sure their town or village is a place that residents are proud to call home.
Happy 3rd Birthday to the Elmbridge Community Lottery!
Since its launch three years ago, the Elmbridge Community Lottery has raised over £100,000 for the local community, and more than £22,000 has been given away in winnings. So far, 91 local good causes have signed up as part of a fun and effective way to raise funds for their valued services in the community.
You can win weekly cash prizes up to the £25,000 jackpot for just £1 per ticket. 50% of the £1 ticket goes directly to the cause of your choice, with a further 10% going to the community fund. This is used to further support local good causes.
