 Our opposition to the expansion of the ULEZ
We continue to state our opposition to the expansion of the ULEZ without meaningful engagement with both ourselves and Surrey County Council (as our public transport provider).
Whilst we are committed to improving air quality in the borough, we are also committed to a thriving and sustainable community, and we cannot support the ULEZ expansion in its current form.
 A balanced and sustainable budget for Elmbridge
Cabinet has recommended the budget against a backdrop of high inflation, rising interest rates, increasing energy costs, all leading to increased costs for the council. However, despite these national and international issues, we remain a financially strong and resilient council.
 Anti-idling campaign launched in drive towards a more sustainable Elmbridge
As part of the Sustainable Elmbridge programme, we are launching #IdleFreeElmbridge, a campaign to raise awareness surrounding idling and the potential risks it poses to Elmbridge’s air quality.
Over the next few weeks, we will be encouraging local businesses, communities, schools and residents to support the campaign and the pledge to keep Elmbridge idle-free.

Our Vision for 2030 is a sustainable, thriving Elmbridge, driven by the power of our community.
On 7 March, residents, businesses, and local partners are invited to the Civic Centre in Esher to hear more about Vision 2030 and our aspirations for Elmbridge.
 Meeting housing pressures
The Local Authority Housing Fund, plus our own strategy to increase affordable accommodation in conjunction with our housing association partners, will provide suitable settled housing for those arriving in the UK through Ukrainian and Afghan schemes and also create a legacy of a new permanent supply of housing.
