Let's get Elmbridge moving
To celebrate Older Persons Day on Thursday 6 October, we are inviting residents to an open morning at the Xcel leisure complex in Walton for free taster exercise sessions and advice on how to stay active and live independently.
Join in classes led by our health instructor, have a go at walking sports or take a stroll with an Elmbridge wellbeing walks leader. You can also collect a free five-day pass and a programme to try classes for free at the Xcel.
It's The Great Big Green Week
This week (24 September - 2 October) is The Great Big Green Week, the UK’s largest celebration of community action on climate change and nature protection.
Visit our website for ideas on how you can take part in the week.
Elmbridge Design Code
To support out Local Plan, we will be working on a Design Code for Elmbridge. A design code is a set of simple, concise, design requirements which set principles for new development in an area.
Producing a ‘Design Code’ for the borough is only possible with the involvement of our residents and businesses and its success depends on that collaboration. We are starting with a series of drop-bys around the borough. Come along to hear more about the Design Code and how it can benefit Elmbridge, and more importantly to tell us your views.
Get ready to #AskAboutAsthma
This year's #AskAboutAsthma week takes place from 3 - 9 October. Now in its sixth year the campaign is about making simple changes to children and young people’s care that will make a big difference to how they experience their asthma.
The campaign also highlights air pollution and its impact on lung health. There are ways we can all help to improve local air quality which can help safeguard the lung health of everyone – not just people with asthma.
