Get boosted now
It has never been more important to get protected with the COVID-19 booster.
It is vital to get a first and second jab, in order to be eligible for a booster to get the protection against Omicron. A third booster dose provides between 60% and 70% protection against symptomatic infection from Omicron two to four weeks after the booster is given.
The expansion of the booster programme continues at a rapid pace, with all adults able to get their life-saving jab by booking online through the National Booking Service or by visiting their nearest walk-in vaccination centre.
So why not make the booster the start of your 2022 year.

Take a lateral flow test
Around one in three people with COVID-19 have no symptoms, but can still pass it on to others - we all need to play our part to help protect each other. If you can't work or study from home or are meeting people outside your family group it is a good idea to test regularly.
Symptom-free testing uses rapid lateral flow tests to identify anyone who has COVID-19 without symptoms, so they don't spread the virus unknowingly.
From 11 January in England, if an individual tests positive on a lateral flow test, they should just record that result on the GOV.UK website and begin self-isolating. The government will be suspending the need to do a PCR test to confirm the result of a positive lateral flow test.
Don't forget to ventilate
Letting in fresh air can help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Opening doors and windows regularly, even for 10 minutes and even though it is cold, can help you and others stay safe.
