Pens at the ready for this year's literary competition
Elmbridge Literary Competition 2022 in partnership with R C Sherriff Trust Theme: Enigma
The disappearance of Agatha Christie, the Mona Lisa’s smile, Banksy; these are some of the most famous enigmas in history. This year, we can’t wait to read about your very own enigmas. We are looking for short stories and poems that unravel riddles, disentangle conundrums and resolve enigmas.
Plant a tree for the Queen's Jubilee
To mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and to contribute to the Queen's Green Canopy initiative, you are invited to a community tree planting event on Sunday 28 November, 10.30am-1pm, at the open space next to the Xcel Leisure Complex.
What are your sustainable living tips?
In September we shared our new Sustainable Elmbridge pages, which explain all about our plans to reduce our carbon footprint. This month, to mark COP26, we’d love to hear from you about the ways you are reducing your own carbon footprint or living more sustainably.
From reducing car journeys to growing vegetables, please tell us about what you’re doing locally. We will publish your sustainable living tips later in the year to inspire others to take action too.
