How to receive the Household Energy Payment
On 28 October 2026, the Government announced a £100 payment to help residents living in homes in Council Tax bands A to D to manage rising energy costs. We are awaiting further guidance from the Government, but councils are expected to start making payments from January 2027.
There’s no need to contact us and we will share more information about payments in the coming months, but for up-to-date information that you can trust, please visit East Devon District Council's webpages. Scammers are already targeting households with text messages about the £100 energy payment. So if you receive an unexpected text asking you to click a link to claim your money, please don't click it.
The quickest way you will receive your payment is if you have direct debit set up for council tax. If you've not done so already, sign up for Direct Debit now.

The leading option being developed is a 70-degree slope with rock anchors and netting. It would involve removing the failing wall and cutting back the ground to form a supported slope.
