 Exciting news...
It's been an incredibly busy few months for us, with our Bag it and Bin it campaign coming to a close and announcing our lucky winners, a feature on BBC spotlight and BBC Radio Devon discussing responsible dog ownership, as well as getting out and about chatting to you and meeting your gorgeous pups at events, pop-ups and lots more waggy walks!
But the fun doesn't doesn't stop there as we've been busy planning something very special... We are excited to announce our first ever Devon Loves Dogs hosted event "A Dog's Day on the Heath". We will be kicking off Heath Week on Saturday 25th July with a free, fun-filled local dog day out designed with your dogs health and happiness in mind, as well as celebrating the stunning Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve.
Expect live demos, expert talks, workshops, guided walks, local stalls, games, enrichment activities and so much more! A truly unmissable day out for you and your dog this summer and a great way to enhance your local dog walk on the heaths. So if you walk your dog on the Pebblebed Heaths then head to our website to find out what exciting activities we have to offer.

 Paws on Paths
It's officially bird breeding season from the 1st March until the 31st July and many rare and special species are busy raising their young all across the Pebblebed Heaths.
Many of these birds such as the illusive Nightjar nest on or low to the ground, relying on their camouflage to protect their young. It's so important when we are sharing space with wildlife and walking on nature reserves that we stick to "Paws on Paths" to minimise disturbance to these precious birds.
In some areas of the reserve dogs are welcome to enjoy the freedom of being off lead, as long as you keep them in sight, close by you and on the path. This is also a great way to avoid ticks or adders that like to hide in the dense vegetation at this time of year. Areas managed by RSPB and Devon Wildlife Trust ask for dogs to be kept on lead. Please follow signs and banners on site.

 No bin? No problem!
We all love to explore new places with our dogs, but what do we do if there's no bin to dispose of your dog waste?
No problem! There are many dog poo containers out there which can act as a secure, smell-proof portable bin until you can find a place to safely dispose of your dogs waste.
Did you know that bagged dog poo can be disposed of in any public litter bin (not recycling bin) and in your mixed waste bin at home?
We have partnered with Dicky Bag and are excited to announce that you can now purchase your very own Devon Loves Dogs bespoke Dicky Bag!
What's more, as a Devon Loves Dogs member you can now receive an exclusive 10% discount on all Dicky Bags with code DLD10 or £10 off the price of a bespoke DLD Dicky Bag with code DLDB

With temperatures rising this summer, it's so important to plan your walks carefully choosing shady locations to keep your pup cool.
Dense woodlands such as the beautiful Fire Beacon Hill, with its long winding tracks, leafy canopies and stunning views over Lyme bay makes a perfect choice for a summer stroll. Well worth a visit!
