 🌿 The consultation closes on Friday the 22 of May at 5pm and we want to hear your views on nature in East Devon. This consultation is your chance to share how you experience and value nature, as well as your views on the priorities and actions set out in the draft East Devon Local Nature Recovery Plan. Your feedback will help shape local support for nature recovery.
The draft plan is set out in five themes: lowland heathland, wetlands, woodland and hedges, species-rich grassland, and the urban fabric. These have been derived on detailed mapping explained in East Devon Nature Recovery Network mapping report. The mapping does not have any statutory weight but indicates the important habitats in East Devon. Questions in each theme will help us understand priorities to focus action.

 We’re seeking your views on changes to how East Devon District Council (EDDC) services are accessed at Exmouth Town Hall. Residents can use a free phone linked to EDDC in a private contact hub during building opening hours, and face-to-face appointments remain available where needed.Â
Your feedback will help us understand what works well, if there are any challenges to accessing services, and what adjustments may be needed particularly for people who may be more affected by changes to face-to-face access.

Street trader consultation summary report publishedÂ
A consultation summary report has been published and is now available to view. The report outlines the key findings from the consultation process, reflecting the themes and responses to help inform the next steps.
The findings will inform the final, amended Street Trading Policy. This will be presented to the Licensing & Enforcement Committee for approval on 22 July and, subject to any further amendments, will then be recommended to Cabinet for adoption.
Churchill Park improvements complete
Dunkeswell Parish Council have confirmed that the Churchill Park improvements are now complete, with new and upgraded equipment now in place for the community to enjoy. Following the community survey and EDDC’s approval of the section 106 transfer, the planned improvements and repairs have now been delivered.
Work began on 23 March and the park has reopened following completion of the improvements.
Alongside the new equipment, the zip wire has been fully overhauled and the swing set has been fitted with new seats. A new climbing trail was also installed in November after a successful National Lottery Awards for All grant covered its purchase and installation.
