    The THG Open is a key part of our exhibition programme showcasing the rich talent of both established and emerging contemporary visual artists living in the South West. 

    Enjoy a celebration of the creative talent found in the South West including painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture and prints. All work is for sale.

    Winners announced

    The winners of the THG Open 2025 have been selected from 104 finalists exhibited at the gallery. 

    • Main Prize: Mellony Tapper for ‘Trousseau’.
    • Best Emerging Artist: Lucie Sivier-Voller for ‘Tapestry of Dance’. 

    Generously sponsored by Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood auctioneers and valuers.

    Please vote for your favourite artist to win the Visitors' Choice at the end of the exhibition.


    Maker call

    Calling SW designers and makers

    Submissions are invited for Present Makers 2025: 8 November – 24 December, a leading exhibition in the UK’s craft calendar.

    Entries will highlight the quality, variety and inspiration of local designer makers working across a range of materials: glass, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, prints and wood, as well as unique Christmas cards and decorations. 

    Free to enter. You will need :

    • a brief statement about yourself and your work inc website / social media links
    • up to 4 high quality images
    • retail prices (inc 40% commission)

    Deadline: Friday 26 September, 5pm
