Deadlines to register to vote and apply for a postal vote approaching

Ballot box 'in person', envelope 'by post' , speech bubbles 'by proxy'. The Electoral Commission. Your vote matters, don't lose it.

It's your last chance to register to vote for the Devon County Council elections, with the deadline of midnight on Friday 11 April 2025 fast approaching.

If you don't want to vote in person, you can apply to vote by post before the deadline of 5pm on Monday 14 April 2025. If you apply for a postal vote from Thursday 3 April 2025 onwards, your postal vote will be issued on Tuesday 22 April 2025.

East Devon National Landscape Fund welcoming applications

The East Devon National Landscape Fund aims to tackle challenges, including biodiversity loss, poor mental and physical health, and climate change. Successful projects in previous years have included arts engagement for local people to connect with their local rivers, hedgerow creation, environmental talks at local festivals, upskilling volunteers through training and surveying wildlife. Applications are welcome until midnight on Sunday 11 May 2025.

East Devon to mark VE Day

On Thursday 8 May 2025, we will mark the historic 80th anniversary of VE Day, celebrating 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe.

Lots of events are planned locally, and Councillor Eleanor Rylance, Chair of East Devon District Council, will be raising the VE Day flag at the council's headquarters.

Join an 'egg-celent' workshop this Easter Holiday

Decorate Easter eggs with artist Agnieszka Wanowicz on Tuesday 15 April 2025. Book your place for the first session, between 11am to 1pm (aimed at 12yrs+, £10 per person), to create two different eggs.

All ages are welcome for the second session, which is free (suggested donation £3), and you can drop in to anytime between 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Easter Hunt at Seaton Wetlands

Pick up your Easter Hunt checklist and goodie bag from the Discovery Hut. Explore the wetlands and tick off what you find. Take part in the Easter colouring competition for a chance to win an amazing prize. The Easter Hunt costs £3.50 and will be running from Saturday 5 to Monday 21 April 2025 from 10am - 4pm daily.


Family nature afternoon at Offwell Woods

Become a nature detective as you explore Offwell Woods and discover more about some of the wildlife that makes its home in the woods. Book your tickets for the event on Thursday 10 April 2025 2pm - 4pm, for £3 per child accompanied by an adult.

Free event to help you take action for a sustainable future

Book your place to join the free East Devon SkillShare event at The Beehive in Honiton on Saturday, 24 April 2025, from 9.30am - 4pm.

Workshops throughout the day will cover topics such as regenerative agriculture and biochar (with Blackdown Hills Eco Hub), taking a creative climate response (with Thelma Hulbert Gallery), supporting climate action (with Exmouth Town Council's Climate Officer), running cooperative buying, and social eating initiatives (with Exmouth and District Mushroom Food Network).
