Whimple Heritage Centre

Digital equipment to support museums 

We are pleased to announce that the six East Devon museums and heritage centres will benefit from grants totalling £2,800 to provide much-needed digital equipment.

These grants were funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

March Highlights

East Devon Women and the Sea: tune in to Phonic FM (106.8 FM, DAB+) on International Women’s Day, 8 March, 10-11 to hear stories of East Devon Women and the Sea, a project created by Dreadnought South West and funded through the Creative East Devon Fund.

RAMM Open call: for artists to apply to make new work for the exhibition, Living Labyrinths: Art and Fungi exploring themes such as symbiosis, biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and the role of fungi in shaping our world. Deadline: 28.04.25

Magic Carpet Honiton: looking for new members from April for drama, music / craft sessions for adults with learning disabilities: Thursdays 10.30 - 1.00 / 1.30 - 4.00.

Branscombe volunteering: the National Trust is looking for volunteers to help uncover the history and natural wonders of Branscombe on brief guided walks starting in May. Full training given.

Funding opportunities

Tesco Stronger Starts - open to charities and community organisations to apply for a grant of up to £1,500 via their blue token scheme. New round every 3 months.

Jerwood Foundation - offering grants to UK-based organisations who focus on making art available for public benefit and promoting emerging talent in the arts. Deadline: 19.03.25

Edinburgh Pitch - international documentary pitching forum for independent filmmakers and production companies to apply for prizes of £2,000-3,000 for developing and financing feature-length films. Deadline: 23.03.25

Small Open Grants -  Museum Development South West is offering grants of up to £10,000 to support a wide range of projects. Deadline 31.03.25

The Arts Society - grants up to £2,000 for grassroots arts, crafts and heritage projects at local level including training and skills; displays, training or conservation activities for museums/galleries; or theatres/performing arts space projects. Deadline: 31.03.25

Richard and Siobhan Coward Foundation - grants of between £500 and £1,500 for organised community activities that give children and young people hands-on experience of photography. Deadline: 02.04.25

Sid Vale Association's Keith Owen Fund - financial support for voluntary and community groups with projects and activities in the valley of the River Sid and its environs. Deadline 30.04.25
