Gas canisters, batteries (inside and outside plastic bags), and vapes

Incorrect disposal of electrical items, batteries, vapes, and gas canisters risk recycling vehicles and plants being engulfed in flames, endangering operatives’ lives. An ‘all-time high’ of more than 1,200 battery fires occurred in the UK’s bin lorries and at waste sites last year.

Green waste collections are proving to be ever popular, with more East Devon residents joining every day. If your garden is small, why not share a green bin with your neighbour?

Make your gardening easier and save trips to the recycling centre by having your green waste collected at the kerbside. All the green waste collected from households is composted in East Devon and used as a natural soil conditioner by farms in the district – part of our local green economy.
