To celebrate Volunteer Week, we want to say a huge thank you to the hundreds of volunteers across East Devon who contribute to the smooth running of our museums, cultural organisations, festivals and events, enhancing the high quality of life and wellbeing in our towns and villages. Join us on Tues 11 June, 10.00-12.00 at The Gateway Theatre, Seaton, where we will announce the nominees and winner of the ACED Volunteer of the Year Award.

New training opportunities
Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us yesterday from Whimple Heritage Centre, Fairlynch Museum, Allhallows Museum, Axminster Heritage Centre, Exmouth Museum, Seaton Museum, Ottery Heritage Centre for a care of photography training session.

Approaching Diversity: Saturday 29 June, 11- 3.30 at Thelma Hulbert Gallery Free places for ACED Members One of ACED’s core values is diversity and inclusion. This session is ideal if you could benefit from a refresher on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion best practice.

Exmouth Festival volunteers call out
Exmouth Festival (19 - 21 July) is seeking volunteers for their 'Green Team' to help with guiding people to correct recycling bins, discussing Exmouth Town Council's sustainability initiatives, promoting reuse (specifically the Exmouth Cup), managing the Cycle Hub, advocating for plant-based diets, and supporting other environmentally-friendly stalls and initiatives.

Manor Pavilion Sidmouth Summer Play Festival (24 June - 21 September)
This year's Summer Play Festival is shaping up to be a strong year with 12 plays over 12 weeks. Plays include Abigail's Party by Mike Leigh, Yes, Prime Minister by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza and and Dial M for Murder by Frederick Knott.
Funding opportunities
Wolfson Foundation: Funding for Places Registered charities, historic buildings, libraries, museums, galleries and performing art organisations can apply for capital grants for buildings and equipment. Minimum grant £15,000. Deadline June.
Jerwood Foundation is offering grants to UK-based organisations that focus on making art available for public benefit and promoting emerging talent in the arts. Deadline: 14 June.
Goodness Grants St Helen’s Farm – the UK’s largest goats’ milk producer is offering grants up to £5,000 to not-for-profit organisations and registered charities for health, places or skills for families in their communities. Deadline 30 June.
Hall & Woodhouse Community Chest Voluntary and community organisations based in Axmouth, Beer and Cranbrook can apply for grants of £300 - £3,000 for projecs that support young people, sports clubs, elderly and people with disability, health, arts and the environment. Deadline: 14 July.
Hedley Foundation provides grants under £5,000 to smaller charities that support disadvantaged young people and youth projects through the arts. Deadline 17 July.

Salem Chapel, East Budleigh dating from 1719, seeks new ownership and usage and is calling for anyone (individuals, charities, businesses) interested in the future of this stunning Grade II* listed building to reach out to historicchapelstrust@tricolorassociates.co.uk.
East Devon Carbon Action is a new programme providing free decarbonisation support for East Devon businesses and community organisations to reduce their carbon footprint and cut costs. Sign up.
Creative Hero Awards celebrate the incredible efforts of those working to provide opportunities for children and young people in art, music, drama, creative writing, drama in Devon and Torbay. Deadline 7 June.
