Cultural Tourism Map for East Devon
As part of an East Devon District Council tourism initiative, we are creating a cultural map to attract visitors outside of peak season. Help us share the outstanding cultural venues across East Devon which host art exhibitions, plays, concerts, gigs, music and literary festivals.
Please read the eligibility criteria for more info. Expressions of interest to be submitted by 31 May.
Deadline: ACED Volunteer of the Year
Don’t forget to nominate one of the fabulous volunteers in your arts organisation / festival / theatre or gallery by completing a simple form. The award will be presented at our Summer ACED Network meeting.

New training opportunities
Approaching Diversity: Saturday 25 May, 11- 3.30 at Thelma Hulbert Gallery Free places for ACED Members Special opportunity to explore Equality/Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in a comfortable, inclusive space. Experienced trainer Louisa Adjoa Parker will support you to explore and take positive steps towards a more consciously inclusive environment for all.
Volunteer Training: Wednesday 5 June, 10 - 1 at Blackdown House, Honiton. Do you find it hard to recruit volunteers? Expand your skills in recruitment, induction and training for volunteers at your organisation.

Legal Structures for VCSE Organisations: Tuesday 21 May, 1-2.30. Online. An East Devon bitesize session exploring the different legal structures that voluntary organisations and social enterprises can adopt.
Set for Success Start-up Workshop: Thursday 23 May, 10 - 2, The Beehive Honiton. Free event open to entrepreneurs in Exeter, East Devon, & Mid Devon looking to start a new business. Seasoned entrepreneurs and budding start-ups will enjoy workshops & talks, expert insights and networking.
A practical guide to video editing: Wednesday 24 June, 11-12.00. Online. Digital Culture Network will help you break down the editing process with quick wins to ensure it does your footage justice.
Funding opportunities
Creative East Devon Fund: providing discretionary financial support to East Devon art & culture initiatives and projects Deadline 20 May.
SPAR Community Cashback 2024 SPAR shoppers can apply for grants up to £10,000 for a local community organisation. Deadline 22 May.
Create Growth Programme aims to help creative businesses explore new innovation projects as a stimulus for growth– grants up to £30K. Deadline 19 June.
Steel Charitable Trust Charities and municipally funded museums with a turnover over £50,000 can apply for grants of £10-20,000 for Arts and Heritage projects. Deadline 11 July.
Devon County Council: Locality Budgets Funding available for projects that benefit local communities in Devon. Each County Councillor in Devon has a Locality Budget grant allocation of £8,000. Deadline: 31 March 2025
Other opportunities
VASW – FCDI Artist Innovation Bursary support for South West based artist to develop more innovative, sustainable, engaged ways of working. Bursary of £20,000 to pay for artist time as well as training, materials and workshop time. Deadline 15 May, 5pm.
