Creative East Devon Fund reopens
The Creative East Devon Fund is now accepting applications for up to £3,000 for the second round of funding. The panel will be meeting twice this year. To be notified of a decision in July, the application deadline is Monday 20 May. See our FAQ's.
ACED Volunteer of the Year
ACED is delighted to announce the inaugural Volunteer of the Year award. This new award will celebrate the dedication of the amazing volunteers throughout the East Devon culture and heritage sector.
Deadline: Tuesday 21 May.

Post Box toppers in Exmouth
The Seagull House Girls create knitted post box toppers for their community with changing themes. The current topper on the Exmouth seafront is a tribute to the RNLI's 200th anniversary.

Sidmouth Jazz & Blues Festival 2024 23 - 27 May
Enjoy 3 days of electrifying live music, presenting 15 artistes in Blackmore Gardens - exceptional value for unbeatable live music. Free fringe events, jazz and blues jam sessions, educational programs, and masterclasses throughout the festival.
Various workshops at this event have been brought to you through the Creative East Devon Fund. The next round of applications is now open.
Chasing the Sun 1 May, 7.30
The latest feature documentary from ACED film champion Pip Piper is screening at cinemas across the UK from 18 April. Screening plus Q&A at Scott Cinemas Exmouth on 1 May.
Funding opportunities
The Open Fund for Music Creators: Grants up to £5,000 support the development of outstanding UK songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds, at different stages of their career. Deadline 8 April.
Villages in Action Call for artists working in live performance with a brand new piece of work to test out at From Devon With Love, annual scratch festival this September. Up to £400 performance fee and a 30-60 minute slot at the festival. Deadline 9 April.
Baring Foundation Grants of £20k to £50k for developing new participatory arts opportunities for men with mental health problems. Deadline 23 April, noon.
Nature Calling commissions. National Landscapes are seeking artists and writers for writing and artistic project commissions for six hub locations including Dorset. Information days in April. Deadline 24 May.
Training opportunities
ACED Producing Live Events: Wednesday 17 April, 10 - 1 at The Beehive, Honiton. Free workshop for East Devon creatives and producers about all aspects of delivering a successful and sustainable event.
ACED Collections Care: Thursday 25 April, 10 - 1 at Axminster Heritage Centre. Free training course for East Devon museum staff and volunteers in packing and storing of textiles and display of costumes.

Sidmouth School of Art welcomes artist David Bellingham to Sidmouth for a One Day Museum community project. Free workshops at Kennaway House for all ages 9-11 April, 10 to 4. The workshops will lead to a One Day Museum on 13 April.
Job Opportunity: Projects Co-ordinator, B-Sharp to oversee delivery of specific projects within B-Sharp's high-quality young people’s music programme across East Devon, West Dorset and Somerset. Deadline 19 April.
