A busy year for Devon Loves Dogs, here are the best bits...
At the beginning of a new year we like to have a look back at what we achieved over 2023. Thanks to to the enthusiasm of our members, supporters and partners we had a very busy year! We celebrated 6 years of Devon Loves Dogs back in the summer and we've enjoyed a varied programme of events, Waggy Walks and pop ups across South East Devon. We're looking forward to another action packed year in 2024!

 Exe Estuary wildlife on TV!
We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who's helped to protect the birds around the Exmouth Wildlife Refuge this season (15th Sept - 31st Dec). People and dogs can easily disturb the birds preventing them from resting, feeding and ultimately surviving the winter.
You can find find out more about the amazing array of Wildlife on the Exe by tuning in to this recent piece filmed by ITV with our South East Devon Wildlife Wardens. You can see some beautiful footage of Dawlish Warren, Exmouth Duckpond and the wider Exe Estuary. We're so lucky to live and walk around these beautiful areas.

Dogs and their owners have been exploring Ridgetop Park near Exeter for several months now and we're continuing our programme of Waggy Walks with Teignbridge Ranger Matt.
Ridgetop offers over 52 acres of wide open space for running and sniffing, all in a number of securely fenced fields. With stunning 360 degree views from the top, seating areas, dog bins and lots of interpretation about the site, it's history and the wildlide that lives there, this park has a lot to offer. There are two free car parks available, with more to follow in the future.

If you walk around the Otter estuary you'll know that a lot has changed in the last couple of years. The Lower Otter Restoration Project (LORP) has now been completed which means there are new footpaths to explore, new bird viewing areas, a footbridge and a new car park.
We enjoyed a Waggy Walk with Otter Estuary Ranger Rick Lockwood in December and it was fascinating to learn all about the project and what's new out on site. We'll be joining up for more Waggy Walks later this year.
