How to safely recycle your batteries
When it comes to recycling batteries it's important to place them in a clear plastic bag inside your recycling box, making them easily identifiable for our recycling crews. Please do not put your batteries inside a cardboard box or wrap them in paper, as they can get missed and mixed up with paper and cardboard in the recycling vehicle, the depot and the Energy from Waste Plant (EFW) in Exeter Plant.
Correctly packaging batteries like this helps prevent fires in our vehicles, at our depot and the plant, which have recently experienced multiple small battery fires within the last six months.
