The Creative East Devon Fund from ACED provides grants of up to £3,000 to local art & culture initiatives and projects. For details of eligible projects, please read our FAQs.

This month's highlight

Sidmouth’s Kingdom of FungiSidmouth School of Art celebrates the changing of the season and local biodiversity with Sidmouth Fungi by local photographer Bob Reynolds. His new work for Sidmouth Wallspace is a magical, mysterious ethereal work highlighting the beauty and diversity of locally found fungi.

 


Funding Opportunities

  • Historic England: Everyday Heritage Grants - celebrating 'Working Class Histories', grants will fund community-based projects wishing to celebrate and share their heritage. Priority given to smaller grassroots projects for less than £10,000. Deadline: 7 November. Apply
  • Million Hours Fund - grants of £30,000 - £100,000 for projects that create better outcomes for young people at a higher risk of anti-social behaviour. Can include learning, arts, playing sports or developing life skills. Exmouth is an eligible area. Deadline 24 November. Apply
  • EDDC's Culture, Leisure and Tourism Fund has awarded 23 grants to community organisations and tourism businesses, inc. The Gateway Theatre, The Beehive, Budleigh Salterton Arts Centre and Museum, and Axminster Guildhall. £320,000 of funds will be available again late spring/early summer 2024. More


Other opportunities

  • Digital Commissions: The Box are offering 3 digital artist commissions. Artists are invited to make a contemporary response to three specific areas of their collections. £3,000-£6,000. Deadline 31 October 2023. More

  • Freelancers: Arts Council England are building a picture of the freelance workforce as part of their commitment to increase support for creative and cultural freelancers. Deadline 31 October. Take part

  • East Devon Tourism Network meeting. Tuesday 14 November, 9.30-12.30, The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth for tourism venues/businesses including culture organisations. Speakers include Chris Charles: Hotel Director The PIG at Combe, Matt Young: Who Needs Instruction CIC and the Journalling Guy, and Becky Craven: Creative Photographer and Workshop Leader.
