We are pleased to announce that the Creative East Devon Fund is now open for applications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage having a conversation with Sarah, EDDC Cultural Producer, in advance by emailing aced@eastdevon.gov.uk. Sarah will also be at our next ACED Network meeting to answer any questions you might have about the new fund.

Creative E Devon Fund

*New* Fund for East Devon Creatives

The ACED Creative East Devon Fund provides grants of up to £3,000 to local art & culture initiatives and projects.

We welcome a wide range of applications. Projects can be across any art form (music, dance, theatre, heritage, craft, digital and visual arts as well as literature, gardening and cookery), which celebrate everyday creativity. For example, projects which are looking to: 

  • Develop cultural events to celebrate local communities
  • Promote everyday creativity, which bring people together and engage volunteers 
  • Tackle environmental, economic, social and cultural issues 
  • Improve access, restore or enhance cultural facilities or creative networks 
  • Improve happiness, health and wellbeing through art and culture 
  • Support people at risk of loneliness and isolation through art and culture
  • Improve the cultural offer for young adults (18-30 year olds) in East Devon 
  • Utilise empty or underused spaces for creative activities 
  • Test new collaborations or pilot new products that can support growth in sustainable cultural tourism

The online application form is now live and the deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday 15 November at midday. Projects must be completed and funds spent by March 2024.

  • You are committed to the values outlined in our Cultural Strategy: collaboration, resilience, diversity and inclusion, connecting and protecting the natural environment; and supporting our goal of carbon neutrality by 2040

After sell out shows of Medea in July, FOUR OF SWORDS are returning to the glorious halls of Beer Quarry Caves this Halloween season for three weeks of atmospheric, subterranean, candlelit performances of OEDIPUS.

Funding Opportunities

  • Leche Trust - Supports projects in two areas: performing arts and heritage conservation. Grants of £2,000 - £4,000. Deadline: 20.10.23 
  • British Council, Connections Through Culture Grant - supports new cultural collaborations across all art forms between East Asia and the UK. Grants between £5,000 - £10,000.  Deadline: 23.10.23
  • Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Teacher Development Fund - to promote partnerships between primary schools and arts/cultural organisations in the UK. Grants up to £165,000. Deadline: 13.11.23
  • Freelands Foundation - Visual art organisations working with schools can apply to develop ambitious approaches to art education and support teachers to inspire and engage young people. £50,000 to £150,000 a year for up to three years. Expressions of interest by 20.11.23

  • Call for entries: SWAC Open Exhibition for 2023: (31 October - 11 November) at Kennaway House, SidmouthDeadline: 03.10.23. Enter online
  • Artists and Artworker Survey: Visual Arts South West (VASW) is launching a new annual artists & artworker survey. The information will be used to advocate for better conditions and investment in visual arts and set priorities for the future of visual arts in the South West. Deadline 31.10.23. Complete the survey
  • International Dylan Thomas Prize for Literary: to recognise and reward literary talent in young authors. Main prize £20,000. Each shortlisted entrant will receive a Runners-up Award of £500. Deadline: 03.11.23 Apply
