 News and updates:
East Devon’s housing service commits to further service improvements
East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) housing service looks to bounce back from COVID and deliver a programme of improvements.
As part of EDDC’s commitment to improvement, an independent survey has recently reported back on tenant satisfaction. Plans are now in place to make changes based on the messages received.
To support tenants, the housing service has introduced estate walkabout events, and annual tenancy inspections which will see all properties visited each year. The housing service is also currently undertaking a review of how tenants are involved with the service and will be refreshing its tenant involvement strategy. Following the results of this survey a number of tenant focus groups are also being set up in order to understand more about tenant’s experiences.
East Devon charities and businesses encouraged to apply for decarbonisation and accessibility grants
East Devon District Council is welcoming grant applications to its Culture, Leisure and Tourism Fund, which opened on Monday, 12 June.
Organisations can use funding awarded towards decarbonisation projects such as loft insultation, solar panels and double glazing. Businesses can also apply to help with decarbonisation or they can apply for support to improve accessibility in their buildings, such as installing ramps, stairlifts or hearing loops.
Charities can apply for grants of up to £20,000 for the work, while business are eligible for grants of up to £5,000.

Be a super-recycler and be recycling sack savvy
The metal items in this photo have been put into recycling sacks, causing contamination
Help us to cut out contamination, by only putting the items we can recycle from the kerb-side in your recycling sack.
Please only use your sacks to recycle your food tins, drinks cans, foil wrap, foil food trays and empty aerosols. All the items shown in the photo can be recycled at a household recycling centre. Find out more here.
Keeping contamination down means that we can more easily recycle the items we can collect and reduces the risk of a rejected load at the processing stage. Visit our A-Z of recycling and disposals webpage here.
Thank you.
