IRF2 Deadline Extension - Net Zero Innovation
The deadline for submitting an Innovation and Resilience Fund (Round 2) expression of interest for those applying under the Net Zero Innovation pathway has been extended to 26 May 2023 at 5pm.
We are looking for particularly transformational projects which will enable job creation or significantly increase productivity.
Below are a number of FAQs for the Net Zero Innovation pathway:
What can I apply for?
Businesses can apply for up to £20,000 of grant funding to purchase equipment which will allow the business to develop a new product, service or technology with a strong net zero focus.
Can I apply for solar panels, heat pumps, LED lighting, etc?
Applicants cannot use IRF2 funding to purchase equipment that will decarbonise the production or provision of an existing product or service. Such equipment can only be purchased where it will enable the business to develop a new product, service or technology with a strong net zero focus.
Can I submit a collaborative application?
Businesses are able to submit a collaborative bid with education providers and other public sector bodies. The application must be submitted by the business.
Is revenue funding available?
Special exemptions for applicants seeking limited revenue funding will be considered in cases where applicants can demonstrate that:
- such revenue costs cannot be funded without IRF2 funding; and
- the proposed project will lead to exceptional positive benefits for the local economy.
