The Kilmington Neighbourhood Plan, which received overwhelming support at a recent local referendum, has been formally ‘made’ by East Devon District Council (EDDC). This means it will carry its ‘full weight’ in the consideration of planning applications in the parish until 2031.
It comes following six years of hard work by Kilmington Parish Council and local community volunteers.
The neighbourhood plan and documents relating to its development are available on EDDC’s website here.
Have your say on future developments in the East Devon Local Plan consultation
After many weeks of preparation, a ten-week consultation to seek residents' views on specific sites for development was launched last Monday, 7 November.
The document sets out how the council intends to meet housing targets, to meet the needs of local residents and ensure new homes are net zero carbon, ensuring they are more efficient and cheaper to run.
The draft plan also outlines how the district addresses the climate change emergency, how and where new jobs should be created, how town centres should be supported and how the district can protect build heritage and the natural environment.
Everyone who lives, works and spends time in the district has been asked to share their views about the future of the district as part of consultation.
Should East Devon’s lowest income families receive a 100 per cent discount on their council tax? Share your views
We want you to share you views on proposed plans to give East Devon’s lowest income families a 100 per cent discount on their council tax, helping to protect them against the cost-of-living crisis.
Under the draft scheme, for working age households, those in Band 1 will receive 100 per cent reduction, Band 2 – 80 per cent, Band 3 – 55 per cent and Band 4 – 25 per cent.
The move will mean 2,423 households (53 per cent) will be lifted out of paying council tax all together under the proposed scheme.
How should the map of constituencies look in East Devon?
The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) is redrawing constituency boundaries in order to rebalance the number of electors represented by each MP, and a final consultation on proposed new constituencies is now open.
A new revised map of constituency proposals, which takes into account feedback sent in by the public on the initial proposals, has been published on the consultation website.
Send in your views before the closing date of Monday, 5 December to have your say on new parliamentary constituency boundaries.
